My Story

​Marquita is the Co-Founder and CEO of Girlfriend’s Apparel . She was inspired to start the company by her husband 10 years ago. While building a brand may have looked effortless from the outside, starting a business at age 28 with no resources or funding quickly forced me to realize that early-stage entrepreneurship was anything but transparent.

Life has brought forth some serious challenges. With those challenges have come many lessons. I am proud to say, I’ve learned from the lessons. One of my greatest achievements was becoming a mother to two wonderful children that I couldn’t imagine my life without. I’m really enjoying this thing called life. With a wonderful partner like mine to stay in called life becomes a lot easier.
