Camille Adkins MBA

Finance Director

From 1991 through 1997, Camille served in various accounting and office management positions with for-profit businesses. In 1997 she was introduced to the non-profit world of fund accounting at SER Jobs for Success.  Her love for mission-based work led to completion of an MBA and expanding work experience. 


Camille joined The Sobering Center in 2021 after working in non-profit accounting for almost 25 years. Management of all financial activities and fiscal operations of Austin/Travis County Sobriety Center, the first and only sobering center in Central Texas. A $2.5M nonprofit organization, 25+ employees, in a single facility. Reporting to and partnering with the Executive Director and working closely with the Board of Directors and BOD Finance Committee, her primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Fiscal oversight

  • Governmental and GAAP compliance

  • Internal controls

  • Fiscal policy initiatives

  • Budgeting

  • Strategic planning

  • Operational compliance

  • Financial metrics and analytics

  • Facility management 

  • IT


Born in Austin, Texas, Ms. Atkins received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Accounting from Park University and her MBA from St. Edward’s University. She is a member of both the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). 


Camille continues to serve on the Board of three local non-profit organizations and provides fiscal consultation to small community organizations.
