Austin Community College and the Dr. James Polk Academy of Arts & Technology cordially invite you to a special evening honoring the remarkable life and legacy of Dr. James Polk.
Join us as we unveil a portrait of this great musician, humanitarian, and role model. Dr. Polk's influence as a legendary jazz pianist, longtime music director for Ray Charles, dedicated educator, and founder of the Austin Jazz Society has left an indelible mark on our community and the world of music. This event celebrates his enduring legacy, which will continue to inspire generations to come.
The portrait will be permanently displayed at the African American Culture Center on the Eastview Campus of Austin Community College, ensuring his contributions are remembered and celebrated for years to come.
